Another week in Hollywizzle

Fo’ shizzle, we find ourselves again with a large group of hopeful contestants in the cutthroat situation of Hollywood week.  I say this every year, but some of the most magical and memorable Idol moments are made during this portion of the competition.  Will we see anymore tonight?

The first round of singers brings Johnny Keyser and Heejun Han, both of whom made it through to the next round.  So does Elise Testone and Baylie Brown.  Hallie Day sang Natural Woman, and made it through, as well.

Jen Hirsh sang Up To The Mountain and Lauren Gray didn’t stop her singing when Randy signaled.  But they both made it through.  But a whole series of girls gave some pretty bad performances and got cut.

Phillip Phillips and Reed Grimm were in the next line, and gave “interesting” performances.  Travis Orlando, who was on the show last season, makes his second trip to Hollywood.  He gives a pretty nice performance, but also, the producers have yet again fixed the show and sent two mediocre performances through, and Travis gets sent home.  Boo, Idol.  Boooo.  Try again next year, Travis.  Third times a charm!

Others getting sent home are Ramiro Garcia, born without ears, Wolf Hamlin, and Jenny Schick.  That wraps up day one of Hollywood week!

Day two begins with Adam Brock who sang Walking in Memphis.  Also in this group is Jane Carrey.  Adam is in, but Jane is out.

David Leathers and Shannon Magrane are in the next group, and they both make it through.  Jessica Phillips sings some Whitney and makes it through, too!

Erika Pelt, Creighton Fraker, who sang some Queen, and Aaron Marcellus all make it through.  Lauren Mink changed keys between the verse and the chorus.  Yeah JLo, I called that before you mentioned it.  Jeremy Rosado sang Superstar, and has some work to do on his control.

Simone Zaire Black sang Sittin’ On The Dock Of the Bay.  And flat fell on her head off the stage.  Yikes.  But it couldn’t have been that bad, because of course the cliffhanger is “Tune in tomorrow to see whether or not she DIED.”  LOL – seriously, Nigel?  We are going to tune in tomorrow to see if she’s ok?  NEW LOWS, Idol.  But I guess the tactic works, because I will be watching.  Until then…
